Top 10 Compact Models by Sales in 2015 in China

For the compact car market in 2015, New Lavida from SAIC VW won the sales champion with yearly sales of totally 379,069 units, which represented a 3.3% increase compared with last year. To be noted, New Lavida is also the best-selling sedan in 2015.

Sylphy from Dongfeng Nissan ranked the second place with 334,087 units, an 11.3% increase compared with last year, pushing Nissan to pass the 1 million sales in China for the very first time.

Even though the monthly sales of Sagitar surged 74.4% to 27,132 units last December, this FAW VW model only ranked the third place in the top 10 best-selling compact cars in China, with yearly sales of 279,887 units, a 6.7% decrease.

The rest of the list are Jetta from FAW VW(274,932 units), Avante from Beijing Hyundai (267,085 units)，New Santana from SAIC VW (255,968 units)，Coralla from FAW Toyota (254,301units),New Buick Excelle from SAIC GM (243,598 units) and Escort form Changan Ford (214,362 sales).

According to CAAM, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2015, the car production in China increased 3.25%, compared with last year, to 24,503,300 units while the sales increased 4.68% to 24,597,600 units, including 21,146,300 passenger vehicles. Even though the sales of sedans slipped 5.33% to 11,720,200 units, the sales of compact models is stillquite prominent,boosted by preferential car purchase policies for small models.
